The effect of the shape of three samples of flat, sharp, and gap top anodes is investigated in this paper, as is the effect of the anode shape on the pinch time, discharge current, the intensity of X-rays and output ions. The Rogowski coil response and pinch time are equal in all three anode samples. Rogowski coil signals are different in anode types. A hard X-ray is produced in the flat anode sample, ions are produced in the gap top anode and the soft X-ray is produced more in the sharp anode.
