Investigation of the effect of various optical model potentials on the neutron scattering reaction mechanisms of 58Ni and 100Mo nuclei

Optical model potential (OMP) is one of the most important components influencing the results of calculating the mechanism of nuclear reactions in reaction and evaporation codes. For this reason, different phenomenological and microscopic models are used for OMP. In this study, the validity of each model for neutron scattering from the spherical nucleus of 58Ni and the nucleus with static deformation of 100Mo has been investigated. It is shown that spherical OMP models can provide acceptable results for both type of nuclei. Also, it is shown that by adjusting the parameters of the local OMP model, the results of inelastic scattering can be improved.
